The play includes 4 episodes, namely the Birth of Emperor Yao, Yao’s Growth in Taji Town, Parting from Mother Qingdu, and the Emperor of Fire. Based on the primitive tribal life in the period of Yao and Shun, it tells the historical story of Yao, one of the “Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors” in ancient China, who was born and grew up in San’e area (in today’s Taji Town) on the south bank of Huaihe River around 2340 BC, which shows you the growth of the great emperor.
