Since ancient times, there have been many different opinions about the origin of wine, not only Yi Di and Du Kang invented wine, but also ancient medicine attributed the invention of wine to the Emperor Huang. In the Tang and Song dynasties, the invention of wine was traced back to the "Yao" period. According to legend, Emperor Yao once selected high quality grain, extracted its essence and distributed it to people to celebrate their good health. People called it "Huayao", which is our wine today. According to the Tang Dynasty, Emperor Yao invented the wine and Emperor Shun designed the qin, hence the expression "Yao wine and Shun qin". For the ancients, “Yao wine” represented the material life and “Shun qin” represented the spiritual life. Bai Juyi of the Tang Dynasty said in Tai Pingyue that "Yao wine is brewed with dew, and Shun's songs are sung in the gentle wind. I wish to share Yao and Shun's feelings, and the joy lies in people's harmony." That's what it means. The History of Song, Volume 138, Le Zhi also lists such words and chapters: "Playing the music "Shao", drinking Yao wine, the emperor's blessing, deep and long."
This statement traces the history of wine back to the ancient times. According to archaeologists, the earliest wine vessels in China belong to the late Longshan culture, which also shows that wine existed in the ancient times.
